Distraction Charters is a six passenger fishing boat owned and operated by Captain Troy Frady of Orange Beach, Alabama. Distraction specializes in Family Friendly Fishing trips. All of their charters are "E" rated for Everyone and are safe for all. We offer competitive rates and prices.

Captain Troy grew up fishing the Alabama saltwater and started this company in 2002. He purchased the Distraction and completely retrofitted her with new engines, carpet, air conditioning, fresh paint and electronics. Troy is an avid outdoorsman and sportfisherman who spent his early years as an executive in the banking and logistics world before leaving it all behind to live his dream of being a charter fishing guide. He believes that everyone should at least one time in their life, experience deep sea fishing. Distraction Charters is located at the Orange Beach Marina.

Troy is at the helm of the Distraction and he and his mate are one of the most requested family friendly charter boats in all Orange Beach and the Alabama Gulf Coast. Troy is an avid promoter of "Catch and Release." He wants you to catch and keep every fish you plan on consuming in a reasonable amount of time. They want you to fill your cooler with fresh fish and will do everything they can to help you catch the fish you want for supper. Troy's responsible approach to saltwater fishing got him noticed by national outdoor writers and NOAA fisheries. Troy is a member of Gulf Council's Data Collection and Limited Access advisory panels. Troy is also an expert writer and has had numerous saltwater fishing articles published nationally and internationally. Captain Troy supports Missions in Costa Rica with his friend Papa Fred Curry.

Distraction is a 41' Hatteras Sportfisher that offers casual elegance for those families that expect a little more from their charter boat. Distraction is a fishing boat that is immaculately maintained and clean. We have a climate controlled sitting area that offers an unobstructed view of the fishing area so you will not miss a thing if your inside taking a break. The Distraction Charter boat is equipped with twin diesel Caterpillar engines that generate over 630 horsepower.

Light Tackle, Family Fishing Is Our Specialty

Distraction specializes in Light Tackle, Family Fishing trips for up to 6 passengers maximum. They fish nearshore for Redfish, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle and Cobia. They offer offshore fishing for reef fish on their deep-sea fishing trips. They fish for Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, White Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Warsaw Grouper, Amberjack, Almaco Jack, Wahoo, White Marlin and Tuna.

Fuel Surcharge is included in price above. Fuel at the marina in 2012, is now over $4.28 per gallon and is rising every tanker load. If fuel goes below $3.50 a gallon pump price at marina, we will remove the $50 fuel surcharge that is included in the price of your trip.
