Surf Fishing Defined
Surf fishing is the act of standing on the edge of the water or wading out in the water, standing on the jetties or sea wall, in order to cast your bait to where you think the fish may be. It also includes fishing from a sea wall, rock jetties and piers. Many of you know how to catch a Bass, Crappie or a Catfish but with a little help from our local surf fishing guide, you can be catching saltwater species of fish like Speckled Trout, White Trout, Flounder and Redfish like the locals do.
Our Surf Fishing Clients
Surf fishing can be a lot of fun for those who hire a surf fishing guide to instruct them and show them where, when and how to catch surf fish. There is nothing more frustrating than fishing for hours and not catching anything. Those of you who bring your own fishing pole and stand out in front of your condo or beach house know what we mean. Our clients tell us every day that they spent hours standing in the surf and did not catch anything. We solve the problem and help frustrated fishermen catch fish.
For those of you who want to fish from shore in front of your beach house or go somewhere that looks quaint, we have a local surf fishing guide available for you. Our surf fishing guide will show you how to catch the inshore and offshore species of fish right from the surf. For those of you who are serious about your fishing, our guide will lead you to where the locals catch fish.
How Guided Surf Fishing in Orange Beach works.
Cost is the biggest reason why we stay busy all of the time. We understand, not everyone wants to charter a fishing boat or go deep-sea fishing. Fishing charters cost from $116 per person for a four hour trip to over $400 per person for a full day charter.
That is why we have a guide to show you when and where the locals fish at a fraction of the cost. There is no limit to the size of your group. The price is the same per person, no matter how many people you have in your group or family.
We started our surf fishing guide service earlier this year and it is taking off like crazy. All you have to do is call us and tell us you want us to help you.
Children Fishing in Orange Beach
Our guide, Ben, wants you and your children to have a wonderful experience and learn how to fish like the locals do. We expect a parent or guardian to be with your children at all times if they are under age. Our guide will demonstrate and help you get started. He will show you how to rig, bait your hook and cast in addition to where to fish. Our guide will not lead children out into the water or do anything that is not safe. Hooks are sharp and we do ask you to supervise your children at all times. We do not want your kids to get hurt. You may want to give your child a life preserver for his or her own protection.
Getting Started Fishing
Our guide will speak to you and find out what species of fish you want to catch. He will tell you what is biting and you will decide when the best time to meet for your fishing lesson.
For those of you who do not have your own fishing gear, our surf fishing guide will meet you at a local tackle store to show you what you need to purchase to get started. The average cost of a new spinning reel is about $30 to $60 and a basic bait bucket costs from $8 to $22.
You will need to know what size hooks, lead sinkers, corks and leader material you will need to catch the fish you want. You will also need to purchase live bait or frozen bait in order to catch the fish you desire. If you are over 16 years of age, you will need to purchase an Alabama Saltwater Fishing License. Most tackle stores sell them. You are also welcome to purchase your Alabama Saltwater Fishing License Online prior to arriving to the beach. Our guide will not be checking to see if you have your license. If you are of age and fail to purchase one, it will be your responsibility to pay the fine if you get caught without one.
Our Guarantee
With fishing, there are no guarantees of a catch. We are offering you the opportunity to learn from a local pro. He knows everything about fishing in local waters from shore, pier or boats. We promise to act professional at all times and treat you and your family with respect. We have patience and will be honest with you. We will tell you when and where we feel the best time to fish is going to be. Our guide is sharing knowledge with you that will save you money in the long run. Our purpose is to give you the best opportunity to catch fish without getting retailed or hear it from someone at a tackle store who is not out there fishing every day. If you want a better chance of catching fish, you may want to consider chartering an inshore fishing trip or an offshore fishing trip.
