Fall Red Snapper Fishing in Orange Beach, Alabama

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has decided to open Red Snapper Season beginning on October 1, 2010.  The season will be weekends only and will continue until November 20th.  That's right, you can come down to Orange Beach, Alabama and choose one of Alabama's Best Charter fishing boats to take you out for some Red Snapper action.

Light tackle Red Snapper fishing trips can be really productive during the Fall season.  It has been four three years since we were able to keep Red Snapper during the Fall months.  This action by the Gulf Council proves that responsible fishermen that adhere to the rebuilding plan for Red Snapper, can get rewarded if the fish quotas are not exceeded during the regular season.  The reason the season is going to open this year was because the fishery was closed in Federal waters south of Orange Beach during the Summer season because of the oil spill.

Now is the time to come to Orange Beach and show your support of the charter fishing cooperative who is just coming out of one of the worst summers in history due to the BP oil spill.  The oil spill shut down fishing for over three months but scientists with NOAA and the FDA have said the fish are safe to eat.
